EXCLUSIVE: Transfer ban for Real and Atletico
Two of the leading Spanish clubs - Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are banned from signing up new players in the next two transfer windows. This was announced after the Appeals Committee to FIFA rejected the appeals of both clubs. Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid were punished for violating the rules of FIFA in attracting underage players. The penalty means that "The Blancos" and "The Mattressers" have no right to attract the new players in January 2017 and then in the summer. They will be able to sign new players at the beginning of 2018. Initially the sentence was imposed in January this year but was then temporarily canceled. Madrid teams attracted new players during the summer transfer period. Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid will be able to buy new players before January 2018, but the players will not be able to play for their teams.
