Southampton officially broke their transfer record

Southampton officially announced the transfer of attacking midfielder Sofiane Boufal from Lille. The deal is breaking the record of "saints" who will pay 16 million pounds for the Moroccan international. The previous most expensive purchase of the club was Dani Osvaldo, which price was 15 million pounds in 2013.

22-year-old Frenchman scored 11 goals in Ligue 1 last campaign.

"I'm very happy to sign with Southampton. I am so excited that we will play at "St. Mary" in front of these fans. The club has shown a strong interest in me and in my opinion this is the best place that I can continue to grow as a player," said Boufal, who signed a contract for five years.
